Plus, know what's always in season? Love. That's right, we have a few Valentine's Day recipe ideas for you, too!
So what's in season this month? Check it out:
Broccoli

This delicious cruciferous veggie is available pretty much year round, but if you pick up a fresh crop at the Farmer's Market, you'll want to save it for something special. May we suggest these

quinoa and
millet, and is bursting with fresh produce like broccoli, edamame, avocado, and more. Grilled shrimp are the perfect accompaniment.
Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts have been having something of a renaissance in recent years, and for good reasontheir nutty, complex flavor adds depth and nutrition. Our
Gluten Free Vegetable Pot Pie is comfort food you'll crave, featuring our
Gluten Free Pie Crust Mix filled with carrots, Brussels spouts, onion and garlic and smothered in a creamy
chickpea flour gravy. Delish on your dish!
Looking for a delicious project for two? These
Traditional-Ish Pork Dumplings are a delightful recipe from

organic all-purpose flour is rolled and filled with a savory mixture of Brussels sprouts and other greens, as well as garlic, ginger and ground pork.
Cabbage

Crisp, crunchy cabbage cooks down into tender shreds in
Bob's Shamrock Soup, created especially for the 40th annual Shamrock Run here in Portland, Oregon! Aromatics like onion, garlic and celery are sauteed with crisp bacon,
organic farro,
lentils, kale and chicken or vegetable broth in this warm and satisfying soup.

Quinoa Spring Rolls. These rainbow-hued beauties are filled with
quinoa, red pepper, red and green cabbage, green onions and shrimp, plus you have your choice of dipping sauces: spicy chili sauce or peanut butter satay.
Cauliflower

The low-carb movement has crowned cauliflower king! This fiber-rich, neutrally flavored veggie can be roasted crisp or grated into fluffy white "rice," but we especially love it in this recipe for
Buffalo Baked Cauliflower Falafel. Finely chopped cauliflower is combined with
chickpeas,
oatmeal,
chia, spices and Buffalo sauce, then scooped and baked until crisp. Perfect on a platter with hummus and plenty of crudite!
Cauliflower's mild flavor is perfect in this
Superfood Brownie Smoothie by Chef Julie Morris! Frozen cauliflower is blended with
Chocolate Protein Powder Nutritional Booster, creamy avocado, goji berries, refreshing coconut water and crunchy cacao nibs! It's gluten free, vegan and darn delicious.
Grapefruit

Sweet-tart grapefruit is the perfect way to add a little sunshine to your diet. These
Grapefruit, Avocado and Crab Couscous Salad Wraps are a favorite here at the mill and would be perfect for a romantic dinner for two.
Whole wheat pearl couscous is tossed in a champagne vinegar dressing and mixed with fresh herbs, citrus and crab. Scoop into lettuce leaves for a scrumptious yet light meal!
This flavorful, moist
Citrus Celebration Cake is drizzled with a grapefruit/orange syrup and topped with fresh citrus and mint! The dense, richly textured cake is made with a blend of
all-purpose and
almond flours.
Kale

Dark, leafy kale is a superfood rich in vitamins A, C and K, and it's absolutely delicious in this
Kale & Quinoa Salad with Maple Dijon Dressing.
Tri-color quinoa is tossed with shredded kale, cubed sweet potatoes, green onions and almonds, and drizzled with a maple-dijon dressing. It's a fantastic low-FODMAP recipe and can be made in advance and enjoyed at your leisure.
The gorgeous presentation of this
Pesto Shakshuka belies its ease of preparation: you can get it to the table in 30 minutes or less! A pesto of basil, pine nuts and
nutritional yeast is folded into shredded kale and
white beans. Crack some eggs on top and toss in the oven for a sophisticated savory breakfast.
Leeks

Leeks are a delightfully mild French onion that require careful cleaning (check out a how-to
here), and they add a lovely flavor and color to all manner of dishes. We love them on this
Winter Harvest Pizza from Andrea Bemis. Here, a
whole wheat crust is topped with butternut squash, leeks, Brussels sprouts (another seasonal veggie), bacon and blue cheese. Yum!
This
Savory Spring Dutch Baby is an excellent savory brunch dishor even enjoy it for dinner! A deep dish pancake made with
all-purpose flour or
Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour is laced with butter, fresh herbs and lemon zest, and topped with sauteed leeks, roasted asparagus and fried eggs. Delightful!
Lemons

Lemons are a universal favorite, due to their intense flavor and vibrant yellow color. These
Amaretto Lemon Cassava Sugar Cookies are made with gluten free
cassava flour and flavored with vanilla, tart cherries, and lemon zest and juice. Roll, cut, bake and drizzle with a delicious lemon icing.
For a tart twist on the traditional pound cake, try this

all-purpose flour, it's rich, dense, and flavored with lemon, grapefruit, lime
and orange zests! This would be particularly wonderful for a Valentine's dinner or brunch.
