Traditional Italian Food: 5 Classic Recipes

By: Bob's Red Mill | May 16 2019
When it comes to cooking traditional Italian food, most of us conjure visions of cheesy pepperoni pizza, big plates of pasta topped with oil and Parmesan cheese, or fettuccine alfredo. And often, these visions are accompanied by daydreaming about dining on sidewalks in Italy and enjoying picnics under the Tuscan sun. The good news is that you don’t actually have to travel all the way to Europe to experience authentic Italian recipes. The art of Italian cuisine can be discovered within the walls of your own kitchen. Once your sauce is simmering, you’ll instantly be transported to a romantic and charming place filled with all the most sensational aromas. From lasagna to risotto, here are some of our favorite Italian dishes—along with some unique variations for you to try.
