Whole Grain Oat Flour is freshly milled from whole grain oat groats, and including all of the nutritious germ, bran and endosperm. Nothing is added and nothing is removed. Oat flour can be used to replace up to 20% of the flour in most baked goods for unique flavor and increased nutrition.

I use Oat Flour as the main ingredient in all of my recipes.
2 bag Oat Flour
1 bag Millet Flour
2 cup Bobs Red Mill All Purpose Flour
2 Cup Tapioca flour
1 cup Arrow Root
1/2 cup Corn Starch
Mix well and sift well.
This Blend works for breading Meats, sauces and gravies. May substitute for flour in cornbread mix.
No unpleasant aroma or aftertaste like some flour blends have. I have a Wheat and Rice allergy so this is my preference. You can add rice flour in the place of tapioca if you choose. Just follow any gluten free recipe as directed with this as your flour blend. Makes amazing muffins!!!

The Almond Cookie recipe on the back of the Oat Flour bag is priceless. I've made these cookies for several get-togethers, and everyone--everyone--loves them. They are surprisingly good for so few ingredients, delicious, buttery, just 100% yummy. Very simple to make ~ my 5 year old and I have a lot of fun baking these. Add flavor and a little softer quality to your cookie recipes by substituting out 1/2 cup flour with this quality non-gluten flour. Couple this with BRM All-purpose flour and you will get rave reviews from your favorite cookie eaters!

I bake my own bread, and as a vegetarian, I'm always looking for a way to add protein to my diet. Replacing a portion of the white flour with oat flour in my bread does that. I love this flour and the texture and flavor it adds to my bread. I also use it (plus white flour) when making oatmeal cookies.

BEST ANSWER: I have never tried to make bread with just the oat flour, but I have used it to substitute up to half of the whole wheat flour, and it seems to work fine. I use a 25 yr old Breadman's bread machine recipe book, and it calls for extra gluten flour in all the recipes. If you are using oat flour to reduce or eliminate gluten, you will need to add something else to give it elasticity - xanthan gum is common, but I recently learned that pectin also works, as in apple butter. Hope this helps.
My oat flour has the 'sell by date of 8/6/16 - never opened. Can I use it 4/21/18?

BEST ANSWER: Generally we recommend using our products by the sell by/best by date or about 6 months beyond. I would recommend using fresh product at this point.
