Spring Chick Cupcakes

Ingredients

For the Cupcakes
For the Frosting
  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 3-4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2-3 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1-2 Tbsp Milk
Ingredients to Decorate
  • Candy Eyeballs
  • Candied Oranges
  • Food coloring assorted
  • Yellow Sprinkles

Instructions

For the Cupcakes
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat sugar and butter together with mixer for ten minutes.
  3. Add one egg at a time & beat with mixer for 3-4 minutes per egg.
  4. Add vanilla into mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder together.
  6. Add to the sugar/butter/egg/vanilla mixture, by alternating with the milk. (Wet/Dry/Wet/Dry/Etc.)
  7. Pour into the cupcake pan.
  8. Bake 16-18 minutes. Let cool.
Directions for Buttercream Frosting
  1. Put butter and three cups of powdered sugar into mixing bowl.
  2. Turn onto the lowest setting while the butter and powdered sugar mix together. Once they are mixed together, beat on medium high.
  3. Add vanilla and mix.
  4. Add milk and the rest of powdered sugar until you get your desired taste and consistency.
  5. Add yellow food coloring and mix together.
Decorate the Cupcakes
  1. Using a knife, ice the cupcake yellow.
  2. Pour yellow sprinkles into a bowl and dip the cupcake into the yellow sprinkles.
  3. Add candy eyeballs. Cut an orange slice candy in half and use for a nose.
  4. Decorate the chick using more frosting. You can add hair, wings or even little feet!
