Overnight Muesli

Overnight Muesli

Sure, overnight oats have been getting a lot of attention, but have you heard about overnight muesli? Invented around 1900 by Dr. Maximilian Bircher-Benner, muesli was created to be a simple and nutritious dish for his patients. In fact, it was traditionally prepared like overnight oats: soaked overnight in milk and/or yogurt with grated apple, much like the recipe below. Enjoy this whole grain treat for breakfast or as an appetizer, as Dr. Bircher-Benner originally intended.
