Honey Whole Wheat Popovers Recipe

Popovers are light, fluffy and a delicious accompaniment to that big holiday meal. While popovers may seem intimidating, they're simply a 5-ingredient recipe, making them extremely approachable to make. In this version, the rustic flavor of Bob’s Red Mill® Whole Wheat Flour pairs wonderfully with honey.

Ingredients

Popovers
Butter Topping
  • 4 oz softened unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp each chopped fresh Chives, Parsley and Thyme

Instructions

  1. Add two popover pans or muffin tins to a preheated 425°F oven and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, whisk together the eggs, milk, butter and honey in one bowl and set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the flours and salt, and then pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and whisk until completely combined.
  4. Remove the popover pans from the oven, spray with nonstick spray and evenly divide the batter between 12 popover cups in the pan.
  5. Bake for 27-30 minutes or until golden brown on top and cooked in the center.
  6. While the popovers are in the oven add 4 ounces of softened butter to a bowl along with the Parmesan cheese and herbs and mix until combined. Set aside.
  7. Serve the butter alongside the hot popovers.
