Carob is a delicious sweet alternative to fine chocolate. It contains no chocolate, cocoa, sugar or caffeine. Carob is available in toasted powder form that is 100% carob. Carob Powder comes from dried carob pods from the finest Mediterranean carob trees.
Carob Drops: Are made also from the finest carob powder and blended with molasses for sweetening.
Carob or Cocoa: Carob powder may be substituted in equal amounts in place of cocoa in a recipe. Many people use this when they cannot tolerate cocoa. It is often called St. John's Flour.
Chocolate Substitute: For 1 square (1 oz.) of baking chocolate mix 3 tablespoons of carob powder in 1 tablespoon water or vegetable oil.
