Instructions
Melt butter in a large heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add onions, kosher salt and ¼ cup chicken broth. Stir well and cook for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Add broth as needed to deglaze the pan. Continue to cook until the onions are dark brown.
Add garlic, stirring well to combine, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Whisk sour cream, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons chives and white pepper together in a large bowl.
Add cooled caramelized onions and stir well to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Serve with Bob’s Red Mill Oat Crackers and garnish with extra chives!
