Barkfest Dog Treats

Barkfest Dog Treats

Is there anything better than an impromptu walk with friends, neighbors and furry companions? Start your own chapter of the Barkfest Club, where good company, protein-packed breakfasts and neighborhood walks come together. These wholesome dog treats—made with whole grain oats, flaxseed meal and creamy peanut butter—are perfect for man’s best friend. And don’t worry, there’s something for you, too. Check out our Peanut Butter Barkfest Bars made just for humans. Be sure to use peanut butter that does not contain xylitol, as it is extremely toxic to dogs.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together peanut butter, banana, melted coconut oil, egg and carrot.

  3. Add dry ingredients and mix until a firm, cohesive dough forms.

  4. Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll to ¼-inch thickness.

  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes or until firm.

  6. Remove the top parchment layer and use a dog bone–shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats. Transfer treats to the prepared baking sheets.

  7. Re-roll scraps as needed, chilling between rounds if they soften.

  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the treats feel firm and are golden brown around the edges.

  9. Cool completely and store in a container at room temperature for 1 week, or in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
