Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups Vegetable Broth or Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 3/4 cup Barley Grits/Meal
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese grated
  • 3 Eggs well-beaten
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Carrots grated
  • 1/2 cup Celery minced
  • 1/4 cup Onion minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an ovenproof baking dish; set aside.
  2. Bring broth and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in grits, cover and reduce heat. Simmer until broth has been absorbed, about 10 - 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Combine grits with remaining ingredients and pour into prepared dish and bake for 30 - 40 minutes or until lightly browned.



    Yield 3 - 4 servings (approximately 3 cups total).
