6 Protein-Packed Smoothie Recipes to Keep You Full

By: Bob's Red Mill | December 23 2017

When it comes to smoothies, they are a perfect on-the-go treat or snack. They also make great meal replacements when you pack them with enough fiber and protein.

The great thing about smoothies is that you can make them using just about anything and everything you can find in your fridge and pantry. (Well, almost everything).

If you load them up with nutritional boosters, such as smoothie powder filled with protein and fiber, they will keep you full for a more sustained period than if you simply made yourself a fruit smoothie. Protein and fiber help to keep you satiated, focused, and energized so that you can perform at your best.

Keep reading for six delicious and protein-packed smoothie recipes you can enjoy today.

Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

Dash of Evans

This is a quick, easy, and healthy smoothie that uses rolled oats as a base ingredient, plus one of our gluten free protein powders such as our Almond Protein Powder. It is blended using milk or a milk substitute like unsweetened vanilla coconut milk or vanilla almond milk.

You can also add Medjool dates for sweetness, and a splash of vanilla extract for more flavor. Blend all of your ingredients with ice until smooth, then pour and enjoy. It’s like an oatmeal cookie in a glass!

Note that sometimes this smoothie recipe can become somewhat thick. If this happens to you, just add more liquid to the blender, such as milk or even water.

This is just a small sampling of the many different smoothie concoctions that are rich in added protein you can make for the whole family to enjoy. I've not tried Bob's Mill protein mixes. I've tried Pea isolate protein from other sources and it was wretched-tasting. How do you compensate for that TASTE?

We aren't sure what brand you tasted or what was in the protein powder, but we use all natural ingredients and the flavors are true to what they say they are.

I love the protein mixes EXCEPT there are way toooo many chia seeds. Please cut them down. The texture is gritty. I noticed this problem more in the chocolate protein mix than in the vanilla.
I will hesitate to buy the chocolate again until this is changed.
