How to Make Cracker Candy

Prepare

The first step in making tasty cracker candy is to be fully prepared. Make sure your oven is reading the correct temperature, set out the kitchen tools and ingredients needed, and review the recipe once or twice. Preparing ahead of time will ensure that you have everything needed to make sure your recipe is successful.

Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 350F. As it's heating, line a sheet pan with foil and then place the graham crackers in too until the pan is fully covered.

Create the Sugar Mixture

Bring butter and brown sugar to boil in a pot and cook at medium heat for about 7 minutes.

Coat the Graham Crackers

Once the sugar mixture is ready, pour it atop the graham crackers, coating them evenly. Then place them back in the oven for five minutes.

Top the Crackers

Next, remove the pan from the oven and add the topping of your choice. Chocolate chips, nuts and even sunflower seeds serve as delicious topping choices and deliver a satisfying crunch. Once the crackers are evenly topped, place them back on the pan and put them in the oven for one minute.

Spread the Chocolate

If you use chocolate chips to top your cracker candy, you want to make sure that the chocolate is spread out evenly. After placing your candy back in the oven for about one minute, remove the pan and spread the chocolate out smoothly.

Freeze and Enjoy

Now that your cracker candy has been properly topped, place it in the freezer for an hour until the chocolate has solidified. Lastly, break your frozen cracker candy into bite-size pieces and portion out what you and your guests will enjoy right now. Then, seal the rest into an airtight container and place it into the fridge for up to one week.
