Ingredients

  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup Steel Cut Oats or Organic Steel Cut Oats
  • 1/2 cup Carrots finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Yellow Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Celery finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Ham finely chopped, pre-cooked
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Place water and steel cut oats in a medium saucepan. Add finely chopped vegetables and ham. Add salt and stir.
  2. Place pan over high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally so the oats will not stick to the pan.
  3. After coming to a boil, lower the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. After cooking for 10 minutes, remove pan from heat and cover. Let sit for several minutes and then serve. Salt and pepper to taste.
