Homemade Baking Powder

Did you know that you can make homemade baking powder? All you need is a few simple ingredients. This recipe can be used by people that have corn allergies and can be found on our bags of Arrowroot Starch.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp Cream of Tartar
  • 2 Tbsp Baking Soda
  • 4 Tbsp Bob's Red Mill Arrowroot Starch

Instructions

  1. 1. Put a flour sifter in or over a bowl and place the ingredients in the sifter, in the exact order given.



    2. After all of the ingredients are in the sifter, sift them into the bowl. Re-sift them into another bowl, and continue until you have sifted them 4-5 times and they are thoroughly mixed.



    3. Place the baking powder in a clean, dry glass jar with a metal lid and store in a cool, dry cupboard. Make sure the jar is tightly closed! Prolonged exposure to air can spoil the effectiveness of the powder. Use within 3 months.
