Ingredients

Oatmeal
Toppings
  • Jammy Egg (see instructions)
  • 2–3 Tbsp Harissa (like Mina brand)
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Parsley
  • Feta (optional)

Instructions

Oatmeal
  1. Using the side of a knife, gently smash the garlic clove until it cracks but remains mostly intact.
  2. In a small pot, bring water and salt to a boil. Add oats and smashed garlic clove and reduce the heat to medium low.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally for about 10 minutes (or longer for creamier oatmeal).
  4. Remove from the heat and let stand for 2 minutes.
Jammy Egg
  1. Fill a pot with enough water to cover the egg by at least an inch.
  2. Once boiling, use a spoon to gently lower the egg into the water and cook for 7 minutes.
  3. Prepare a small bowl with an ice bath. After the egg has cooked for 7 minutes, remove it immediately and place it in the ice bath to cool.
  4. Once the egg has completely cooled, peel and slice in half for serving.
Assembly
  1. Spoon oats into a bowl, removing garlic.
  2. Top with one third of the harissa sauce, the jammy egg, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, parsley and feta if desired. Enjoy!
