In the cold and rainy months of winter, it's easy to get a little bored with our food choices. Root veggies and broccoli can only cheer us up so much, right? Enter, the shining star of winter produce: CITRUS! When Cara Cara, Valencia, and Blood Oranges flood the market, it's time to celebrate! Today we're celebrating with gluten free donuts. Gluten Free Blood Orange Donuts, to be exact! The ingredients and method are fairly simple here. The only special equipment we need is a zester (or microplane), electric hand mixer, and donut pan!

The Best Gluten Free Flour

To make the gluten free donuts, we're using our Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour, a cup for cup replacement for white flour. We truly think it's the best gluten free flour blend. If you're new to gluten free and have a bunch of favorite wheat-based recipes, all you need to do it sub in our Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour. Change the flour, not your recipes :)

How to make Gluten Free Donuts

To make the donuts, cream together sugar, butter, and the fresh zest of a blood orange. Add in a single egg (or sub our Gluten Free Egg Replacer, a chia egg or a flax egg!). Next, whisk in dry ingredients and greek yogurt for moisture. Finally, bake in a donut pan for just 15 minutes then dip in a glaze of powdered sugar and fresh blood orange juice.
