Preheat oven to 325°F. Butter an 8-inch square baking pan. Line the pan with a sheet of parchment paper that hangs over two of the edges (for pulling the brownies out of the pan after baking).
Place Easter egg candies in a zip-top plastic bag and use a rolling pin to smash them, leaving a range of sizes with some larger pieces and some small crumbs.
Whisk together eggs, melted butter and water. Add brownie mix and stir with a spoon until combined. Spread the batter in the prepared baking pan. Top with about 1 cup of the smashed candy.
Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few crumbs, 30-40 minutes. Immediately sprinkle with the remaining smashed easter candies, gently pressing them into the top of the brownies.
Cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.
