Chocolate Donuts

These gluten free Chocolate Donuts are rich, sweet and downright irresistible! Can be made dairy free as well. Pair with a darn fine cup of coffee for a satisfying treat.

Glaze
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 4 Tbsp Milk or dairy-free Milk
  • Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spray a donut pan with oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add in egg and beat until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, nutmeg and salt.
  4. Add dry ingredients and milk to butter-sugar mixture and mix until thoroughly combined.
  5. Add batter into prepared donut pans, filling each 3/4 full.
  6. Bake donuts for 15 minutes or until a toothpick check comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder and milk to a thick, pourable consistency. Dunk donuts in glaze and top with sprinkles.
