We decided to make it easy for you and compile some wacky and oddball recipe ideas designed to get a giggle out of your next victim.

Onion Rings

Wacky April Fools Recipes _ Bobs Red Mill If your other half has a weakness for onion rings, try making some candy onion rings with Twizzler Rainbow Twists dipped in a candy coating and rolled in graham cracker crumbs. They wont know the difference, at least not until they taste it!

Pizza Cake

Use a boxed cake for the crust, and red frosting for the sauce. Then use grated, white baking chocolate for the cheese and top with strawberry fruit roll-up cut into circles for the pepperoni. This sweet treat is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Meatloaf

In the mood for dessert for dinner? Try a meatloaf cake. Shape the meatloaf into a cake pan and use mashed potatoes as your frosting. You can also make meatloaf cupcakes. Garnish with fun things like peas or corn. The first bite will be suspiciously savory, but undeniably delicious!

Eggs and Toast

For a fun spin on breakfast, try buttering and browning slices of pound cake as toast, then topping it with yogurt and apricot to mimic eggs and toast, sunny-side up.

Donuts

Sometimes, a donut is just a donut. Except when its not. Try making some homemade donuts out of peaches and decorate them the same as you would a real donut, with a glaze or sprinkles.

The Undrinkable Drink

You can try this prank using just about any beverage that tickles your fancy. Combine your favorite drink with gelatin to make it edible instead of drinkable. Then laugh at the look on your familys face when they actually try to drink it. Dont forget to snap a pic!

Sunday Mashed

Make an ice cream sundae using mashed potatoes and gravy and serve it up as a side dish to dinner. Though it might look like the real thing, it definitely doesnt taste like it!

Cream Cheese Bagel

Transform a donut into a bagel. Use papaya and mango cut into super thin slices as lox and use frosting for your cream cheese. Minced chocolate and nuts can take the place of poppy seeds, and voila! Breakfast! Or lunch. You decide.

Minty Oreos

This one might be a bit mean, but fun nevertheless. Try setting out Oreos for unsuspecting victims. Replace the filling with toothpaste and then get ready to laugh. They look like the real thing!

Deviled Eggs

Another somewhat mean but still fun idea. Make eggs and fill them with buttercream icing. Use cinnamon as paprika, and you wont even be able to tell they arent the real thing. Of course, they wont taste like Aunt Rosas famous deviled eggs, but hey . . . anything for a good laugh.

Chicken Wings

Having some friends over to watch a game or hosting a charades night? Fool your guests with chicken wings made from rice crispy treats. Use juice and sugar to make a BBQ sauce coating, and add green licorice cut up like celery for a garnish. Sweetest wings, ever!

Shepherds Pie

Rice Krispies come in handy for all sorts of things. Fool your family into thinking they are about to sit down to a nice dinner of shepherds pie, but use chocolate rice crispy cereal as the filling, melted marshmallow for the potatoes and taffy pieces for carrots and peas. The only way anyone can tell the difference is by taste!

Sweet Alphabet Soup

This one is super simple. Color some butterscotch or vanilla pudding with orange food coloring and top it with alphabet cereal. If you really want to go all out, you can pair this with a grilled cheese sandwich, using slices of pound cake and colored icing in the middle as cheese. Double yum! Obviously, there are tons of fun and wacky ways you can get one over on your loved ones this April Fools Day, but its especially fun if youre using food to do it. Get creative and see what you can come up with. Just remember the unspoken rule . . . if you make it, you must eat it.
