Our influencer spotlight today is on Camryn Derman from Tropi-cam.com. Shes a blond bundle of energetic creativity and hustle, with a special passion for the gym, snacks and crushing her goals. Not necessarily in that order. As a native from Florida, she also adores the beach. Something about the sand, the ocean, the smell of salt in the air . . . can you smell it too? She combines all of those things and more on her popular (and beautiful, if we do say so ourselves) blog TropiCam. She calls it her beach. Its her creative and inspirational hub where she gets to do and be and talk about all the things. Especially food, fitness and style. Though TropiCam started out as merely a hobby, a creative outlet for Camryn to share her passion for food as well as beautiful photography and design, it quickly transformed into something else altogether. How did you become an influencer/blogger?

Influencer Spotlight on Camryn Derman of TropiCam | Bob's Red Mill Blog I originally started my Instagram account to take part in the Tone It Up health and wellness community. I took a leap of faith by becoming a Nutrition Plan member and committing to working out in December of 2016. I completed my first fitness challenge throughout the next two months and was chosen as 1 of 6 winners of that challenge. I flew to California to meet the founders of Tone It Up and experienced the trip of a lifetime. Since then I have grown and evolved my brand/blog into all things health and wellness. Professionally, I am a graphic designer, so I always like to throw a little creative flair into my content.

What started your journey into health?

I had hit a low point where I wasnt happy with multiple areas of my life. After a period of self-reflection and soul searching I realized that a lot of my angst was steaming from the way I looked and felt. I wasnt confident in my own skin and felt like I was living on cruise control. I decided that I was going to commit to a healthy lifestyle and strive to live each day with intention. I am proud to say that I have completely transformed my lifestyle and am still taking steps towards my health/fitness goals almost 3 years later.

Do you follow a modified diet?

I am an intuitive eater. I do know that I feel better when eating a certain way, but I wouldnt classify the way I eat with any sort of title.

What is something most people don't know about you?

Something that most people dont know about me is that I am a twin!

What is your favorite BRM product?

My favorite BRM product is almond flour. I have a sweet tooth and love to bake with it.

One tip for finding time to cook and bake amidst a busy schedule?

I firmly believe that its not about finding time but more about making time. I am committed to my wellness goals and I know that a huge part of that involves spending time in the kitchen. I prioritize cooking and find joy in meal prepping because I know I am setting myself up for success.

Oats person or a smoothie person?

Definitely more of a smoothie person! I love to add BRM chia seeds into my smoothies.

Any exciting announcements or plans for your Instagram or blog this year?

I plan on posting lots of amazing recipes and food photography tutorials, and intend to plan more community events.

Who are some of your favorite influencers?

I love to follow @thevisualveggie for recipe inspo, @_brittanylupton for fitness inspo and @whatcaitate for all things nutrition.

What do you like to do when you aren't working on recipe creation?

I love spending time at the beach! I grew up in Florida so the ocean is a huge part of my life.

Favorite season or holiday?

I absolutely LOVE summertime. I spend most of my time outside when I am not in the kitchen. I am the happiest in a bikini at the beach with my loved ones!

What is your top baking tip?

I am all about sticking to my budget. I would say that my biggest baking tip is to experiment with ingredients that you already have in your pantry! (Just make sure you stay stocked up on BRM products and youre all set.)

Three words to describe yourself?

Creative. Feminine. Tropical.

Quinoa!

Favorite food brands?

I love Tone It Up nutrition products. I love almost anything Trader Joes brand and I love Primal Kitchen.
