Top Baking Tips from Influencers

Sometimes baking is more than simply flour and water. There is definitely an art to baking, but its not an art that cant be mastered, even for someone new to the kitchen. By incorporating just a few simple tips from some of our top influencers (trust us, they know what they are doing), you can emulate them and take your baking skills to the next level. Just be careful you dont get too good, or your friends and fam might start putting in order requests!

Baking Wisdom from the Interwebs

Sarah Herman of Starving to Strong swears by using non-stick aluminum foil. In her own words she says, Use non-stick aluminum foil, your life will be changed forever! Just plain aluminum foil doesn't work as well. We can affirm, non-stick is the way to go! You can stalk Sarah @starving_to_strong on Insta to learn more of her baking secrets. Speaking of non-stick, Garianne Sheridan of The Peach Prodigy has a little tip of her own. She says, Butter and flour your pans generously! Both of these methods keep your goods from sticking when they shouldnt. Plus, who doesnt love the flavor of butter? Find Garianne on Insta @thepeachyprodigy, and tell her how much butter you use in a day. Top Baking Tips from Influencers | Bob's Red Mill Blog If you struggle to get baking times just right, Taylor Harbin of All-Purpose Flour Child has a couple of great tips to help. Taylor says, Temperatures and baking times can vary greatly depending on the weather and your oven, so learn the signs to look for that indicate the bake is done. Signs such as a cake springing back when you tap the surface or a pie crust thats crispy on the bottom of the pie pan. Another sign is cookies that have spread and puffed enough to form a uniform shape but are still slightly wiggly in the center for a chewy cookie. Yum, we sure love chewy cookies! Find Tayor on Insta @All.Purpose.Flour.Child. Speaking of chewy cookies, Cori Finglass of Matcha and Margs recommends, When baking cookies and baked goods, let your dough chill in the fridge first! It really has the ability to make the texture of your final product come out amazing. We cant really argue this tip. Its a good one. Try it for yourself. If you want to stalk Cori on Insta, find her @Matcha_and_Margs. However, Stephanie Suen of The Buttery Whisk has slightly different advice. She says room temp is ideal. In her own words, When it comes to baking, my top baking tip/hack would have to be to make sure all ingredients are at room temperature unless stated otherwise. Making sure your eggs, milk or butter isnt chilled will give you much better results (I promise!). Cold or room temp, it really boils down to what works for you. Find Stephanie on Insta @TheButteryWhisk for all the foodie advice you could want. If youre not really a fan of baked goods (for shame!) then Jazz Leaf of Jazzs Recipes 4 Health advises you to make no-bake desserts instead. There are less rules to follow, which makes them a lot easier to make. No-bake desserts can be the perfect healthy treat without needing the precision of baking. Start with desserts that require no baking, are quick to make and super satisfying! Most desserts can be placed in the freezer and enjoyed from time to time! Follow Jazz @Recipes4Health on Insta. If you actually do love to bake but are worried you might muck up the recipe, Sarah Orrock of Wild Yums has a sweet bit of advice. She says, Microwave-method. Always test out your raw cake/cookie batter before baking, by scooping some in a mug and microwaving it until done (about 10-15 seconds). Top Baking Tips from Influencers | Bob's Red Mill Blog This will help make sure the texture and flavor are exactly what you want. Saves you a lot of time later, in case you mess up an entire batch (and don't realize it until after you've baked it all). We say thats a little stroke of genius right there! If you want more of this genius, follow Sarah at @WildYums on Insta. Meanwhile, Tasia Harper of TwoSugarBugs leaves us with a final word of wisdom. She says, My top baking tip is to have fun! Top baking hack is to learn your oven, and when in doubt to pull something out early. Slightly underdone always beats something over-baked. We tend to agree. Especially when it comes to cookies, for instance. Gotta love those chewy middles! If youd like to hear more from Tasia, find her on Insta @TwoSugarBugs.
