Assembly Instructions

  1. Cut the tray of brownies horizontally into four evenly sized piecesapproximately 9 x 3 inches each.
  2. Begin making the first two sets of brownie layers. After assembly, these layers will become firm in the fridge. The two shorter tortes created will be put together to make one large torte.
  3. To start, carefully lift one of the brownie pieces from the pan and place onto a serving platter.
  4. Spread 1 cup of cream cheese frosting onto the brownie layer.
  5. Carefully top the frosting with the second layer of brownie. Then top that brownie layer with an additional cup of frosting. Leave it on the serving platter.
  6. Next, place the remaining two brownie pieces onto a baking sheet.
  7. Top one of the brownie pieces with 1 cup of cream cheese frosting.
  8. Use the last brownie layer to top the frosting. This will be the top layer of your torte.
  9. Spread the remaining cream cheese frosting on top of the final layer and garnish with the cup of remaining chocolate chips.
  10. Refrigerate the two smaller tortes for at least 1 hour until the frosting is firm. A firm frosting will help create a sturdy base for the final torte.
  11. Once firm, lift the brownie torte from the baking sheet and place it on top of the brownie torte on the serving platter. Press firmly to adhere the two layers together.
  12. To cut, hold one hand vertically against the edges so that when you cut through the four layers, they don't come apart. When cut, the pieces will bind together.
  13. Store in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.
