As part of our celebration of Bob's Red Mill's 45th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the first Whole Grains Council meeting, we're sharing an in-depth Q&A with Oldways president and founder, Sara Baer-Sinnott, and our own Bob Mooreas well as some fun facts about Bob!
Have you ever picked up a package of Bob's Red Mill oatmeal and wondered about Bob's famous bolo tie, immortalized in our logo? This gem was unearthed from our full-length interview:
Bob Moore: Someplace on the East Coast theres a bunch of Bob Evans restaurants, and I met Bob, and he put this thing around my neck
Sara Baer-Sinnott: The bolo!
Bob: The bolo, thank you. He thought I looked good with it, so he gave me half a dozen of them, and I started wearing those. So that became the hat and the bolo, and the picture on the label became who I was, and whos responsible for the whole grain products that you had for breakfast this morning.
See Bob's bolo in action in this vintage video from 2012, where Bob talks about his great loves: travel, stone milling and whole grain foods!
Come back 3/9 to watch our video collaboration with the Whole Grains Council, as they honor Bob with their Whole Grain Pioneer award and crown him their Whole Grain King!
