Hazelnut Flour/Meal is made from whole hazelnuts grown in the Pacific Northwest. It's a Paleo-friendly, grain-free flour great for delectable, nutty baked goods. Try stirring Hazelnut meal in your hot cereals, breading chicken or fish with it, or adding it to your favorite smoothie.

Bob’s Red Mill Hazelnut Meal is ground from whole Oregon hazelnuts, or filberts. Hazelnuts are often overlooked for their nutritional value, but these healthy nuts provide a good amount of vitamin E and a healthy serving of monounsaturated fats in each 1/4 cup serving. Not only do hazelnuts have a healthy boost of protein, they are also very low in carbohydrates and naturally gluten free.

Did you know that adding hazelnut meal to your baking and cooking can bring the health benefits of hazelnuts to your diet, as well as cutting back on carbohydrate consumption? Replacing 30% of the flour in your baking with hazelnut meal will add wonderful texture and flavor while reducing the total carbohydrates. This makes it perfect for those following a low carbohydrate or paleo diet. Hazelnut meal is produced in our gluten free facility, making it an ideal addition to a gluten free diet.

In addition to low carbohydrate baking, hazelnut meal is wonderful for use in pastries, pie crusts, cakes, cookies, pancakes and quick breads. Hazelnut meal will bring a rich, buttery flavor to your baking while adding an enticing aroma that can only come from high quality hazelnuts. Hazelnut meal can be used in savory applications, as well. Use hazelnut meal in place of bread crumbs in meatballs, or as a coating for chicken and fish.

Our hazelnut meal is not blanched. Find recipes for using hazelnut meal under the recipe tab below. Hazelnut meal is best kept refrigerated or frozen.

Adds Rich Flavor
I’ve been replacing 1/4c of flour in my pancakes with the hazelnut flour. So good! My only complaint is it doesn’t taste as fresh as it could. It wasn’t rancid but maybe a just tiny bit stale tasting when I tried it on its own. Maybe that just happens when it gets ground up. It tasted great once mixed into a baked good and cooked. I’m going to mix a little into some carrot muffins next.

Fabulous product to use with hot cereal
This is a great product even for non-bakers, especially if you eat a lot of hot cereal. It adds a very pleasant, fresh taste plus valuable nutrients to the cereal. I highly recommend this.

Loved cookie recipe on package!
My husband is strictly gluten and egg free, while my daughter is meat, dairy and refined-food free. Cooking and baking are always a challenge! I had a bag of this flour in the fridge that had expired 6 months before, but looked, smelled and tasted fine. First, I made some pancakes with a cup of it, served with berries and maple syrup. They were tasty and filling, but hard to keep from sticking while cooking. I used the last cup about a week later and made the cookie recipe on the package I followed the recipe exactly as written, except I subbed pured pineapple for the apple sauce. I used good quality, organic, dark chocolate chunks. I always use a mini ice cream scoop to drop sticky GF doughs. Might wanna go slightly over the 18-minute baking time, so they hold together a little better. None the less, everyone loved these! Recipe's a keeper. I prefer the flavor of this flour/meal to that of the almond. Perfect consistency/texture for cookies!
