Our Gluten Free Egg Replacer is a simple, clean, and easy-to-use vegan baking essential. Great for muffins, cakes, cookies, quick breads and more!

Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Egg Replacer is a vegan baking essential made with four simple and clean ingredients: potato starch, tapioca flour, baking soda, and psyllium husk fiber - no grains, soy, gluten, or beans. This proprietary powdered egg substitute is the perfect ingredient for egg-free baking and can be used in cakes, cookies, muffins, pancakes, quick breads, and more. It's so easy to use: just add water in varying amounts depending on if you are replacing an egg white, yolk, or whole egg. With each package containing the equivalent of 34 eggs, it's an economical choice as well. A great choice for those watching their cholesterol intake as it is cholesterol free! Produced in our dedicated gluten free facility, it's safe for celiacs and is perfect for use with our gluten free baking mixes! Just don't try to scramble it or make an egg white meringue - it's fantastic but it's not magic! Check out our recipes tab for more ideas on how to incorporate our vegan egg replacement into your favorite dishes.

ok product
I love Bob's Red Mill! Every product I've worked with from them has been amazing.. except this one. It's great for pancakes, oatmeal cookies... anything that is supposed to be heavy. Because that's what it does - it makes everything heavy. Bread, cake, you name it. So not a horrible product but definitely has to be used in the appropriate way for it to work. Meaning, it is not a direct replacement. You may have to adjust for the weight of the product with the volume and other ingredients.

Terrible - don't bother!
I was SO excited to use this product to veganize a family Bundt cake recipe. Imagine my terrific disappointment when the cake came out flat - it barely rose, and couldn't sustain what rise it had.

The eggs were the only swap; this wasn't an issue of using the wrong butter/milk substitute... likewise, this is a time-tested recipe, and I'm a pretty experienced baker... it is clear that this crummy product was the culprit.

I am so disappointed. Save your money, don't bother.

This product is okay but for my taste too salty. When I use it as suggested, I have lack luster results. If buying this, it is better to not follow directions.

Fantastic egg replacer
I saw this in a recipe on Sarah Bakes Gluten Free. It is perfect for vegans and when you are just out of eggs and want to bake something.

Disappointed in sodium content
I was very disappointed in the strong flavor of salt and baking soda that came through with this product. I used it in my own pumpkin pancake recipe and for me it ruined them since I limit sodium intake and therefore I detect salt very easily. There should at least be a note on the package to say you may need to cut other salt in a recipe to adjust for that. Perhaps it is good in conventional cakes and cookies using refined sugars, as that may cover up the flavor of the egg replacer. But if you are also making recipes using very little sugar and relying on the sweetness of other ingredients, this will affect flavor negatively, in my opinion.

Egg Replacer ROCKS!
I love to bake and I was leery about using an egg replacer. I tried Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Egg Replacer last night in a zucchini cake and it came out AMAZING! I am really excited to try it in all different kinds of recipes now. I highly recommend this product to everyone!

GF Egg Replacer
Thanks Bob for the best ever Egg Replacer. Since everything baked GF requires a lot of eggs, this will be my replacement for loads of eggs as I bake a whole lot (of course, always using Bob's Red Mill superb GF products). Everything GF that you produce is excellent.

I have been using this egg replacer for several yrs now. It is made of vegan ingredients & non-gmo. It is easy to use, mixes perfectly with a fork & you add nothing but water. You don't have to make a separate trip to the store to get bananas, etc to replace eggs in your baking. Even my nonvegetarian husband enjoys it with no complaints! You will have no complaints.

Due to a medical condition I need to say away from specific animal protein. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Red Mill makes an egg substitute that does not contain eggs. I can't wait to use it in my recipes.

I use this egg replacer in many recipes. This is my second purchase. It is great in the almond butter cookies; gives the cookies a "pecan sandy-like texture". It also works as a thickener for gravy, soups, etc.

Want to try this. I don't eat eggs and while silken tofu makes a good egg substitute, it's not convenient (has to be used up fast). Will be glad if this egg replacer product, which can be stored, works as well.

how much egg replacer do I use to make 1 cup liquid?
Amy J on Dec 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 5-1/3 Tablespoons egg replacer plus 10-2/3 Tablespoons water equals 16 Tablespoons (1 cup) of liquid eggs, while maintaining the 2:1 ratio of water to egg replacer as recommended on the package.
Does this work in savory dishes? I want to make a vegan lentil loaf that calls for flax eggs but I wasn't happy with flax eggs.
Caryn C on Dec 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I haven't tried it in a loaf like this but I imagine it would work. It performs very similarly to flax eggs. It's not sweetened so it would be fine with savory dishes, flavor-wise.
Can you use the egg replacer to make scrambled eggs?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi! No, this product is not a substitute for scrambled eggs. It it primarily made from flours/starches and works best to mimic the binding properties of eggs in a baking recipe.
Can you use this to make an angel food cake?
A shopper on Jan 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, angel food cake relies heavily on whipped egg whites to create structure and texture. This egg replacer would not work well to replace egg whites.
Is it nut free?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this product is nut free. However, it is processed in a facility that also processes tree nuts.
Do you have to refrigerate the Powdered Egg Replacer?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This product is best kept in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, preferably the fridge or freezer. Will keep up to 24 months when stored properly.
Can this be used in place of eggs in pumpkin pie?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you should be able to use this product as an egg replacer in pumpkin pie as long as the egg is used as binder in the recipe and not a major component of the recipe.

Quality. Integrity. Tradition.
