Flavor and mouth
The flavor is great, but it is the consistency that is top drawer. Nothing like mush. Maintains texture. And cooks more quickly than steel cut.

I was surprised.,
Your oatmeal is a firmer consistency than the usual that I have been getting over the years. It is better in my opinion. It made great oatmeal cookies and the breakfast cereal is the best.

The best Thick Oats.....
John C on Oct 26, 2017
Oats are currently being sprayed with Roundup shortly before harvest. So organic is what I want. Thick lovely texture to these and great taste.
Dianne C on Oct 22, 2017
All of Bob's oatmeal varieties are better than other brands I have tried. This is my favorite of Bob's varieties--it's organic and it can be cooked to a nice chewy consistency (or longer, for guests who prefer porridge). Also, there seems to be a minimum of oatmeal "dust" (maybe due to "extra thick").
James H on Oct 21, 2017
It is the best product available in the world!
Penny H on Feb 16, 2018
So many uses for oatmeal :)
Cynthia D on Feb 5, 2018
Can this oatmeal be eaten as a cold cereal as well as cooked?
A shopper on Dec 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, not until you cook it first, making the oatmeal, then refrigerate it. After its cold oatmeal, yes, most definitely. I do this all the time. I make a big pot of it using mostly unsweetened Almond and/or Coconut Milk and some water. Then take my serving of the hot oatmeal and store the remainder, after it has cooled, in the refrigerator. You can reheat it on the stovetop with a little more water or milk or just eat it cold.
But do not eat this raw, uncooked. It is a whole grain that requires cooking at least 15-20 minutes, depending on the texture you prefer!
Can this product be mixed together with the steel oats and cooked together? I gather the big difference between the two is that the rolled oats come out thicker. I would just like to be able to keep that nutty flavor of the steel oats. What I really would like is the combination blend that is in the Gluten-Free cups of oatmeal which has more than just oatmeal.
Maria Rose R on Feb 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi! The Steel Cut Oats have a longer cooking time in comparison to the Thick Rolled Oats but with some trial this may work. We haven't tried it but please let us know if you do!
