Ingredients Organic Whole Grain Oats.

*Manufactured in a facility that also uses tree nuts and soy

These whole grain oats have the same delicious flavor, terrific texture, and solid nutrition of our classic steel cut oats, with the added benefits of being gluten free AND certified organic! Top off a bowl of steel cut oatmeal with your favorite fixings for a wonderfully satisfying breakfast.

Steel cut oats, also known as Irish oats or pinhead oats, are made from whole grain oat groats that have been cut into small pieces on a steel burr mill, then lightly toasted to bring out the wonderfully nutty flavor. Cooking steel cut oats takes a bit longer than rolled varieties, but the result is a uniquely delicious, terrifically satisfying porridge that is well worth the extra time. Simply add water and a pinch of salt, then simmer on the stove for about 20 minutes, and you’ll have a pot of organic gluten free oatmeal that is the perfect combination of chewy and creamy. Did you know you can also cook our steel cut oats in a slow cooker or crock pot? Combine 4 cups water, 1 cup oats and ½ tsp salt in a 4-6 quart slow cooker. Set it, forget it, and eight hours later, you’ll have 4 hearty servings of oatmeal ready to eat. Steel cut oats are great for sweet or savory oatmeal. Try them topped with maple syrup and butter; make it decadent with a spoonful of chocolate-hazelnut spread and a bit of whipped cream; or create a protein-packed breakfast bowl by topping steel cut oatmeal with a fried egg, bacon and a dash of hot sauce. For an extra nutritional boost, add a spoonful of flaxseed meal to your oatmeal (Bob always does!). Beyond a nutritious breakfast, steel cut oats can be used for lunch and dinner, too! For a new twist on a favorite cold grain salad, use steel cut oats instead of couscous or quinoa. Try steel cut oats instead of rice for a unique take on risotto. You can also use steel cut oats in meatloaf, fritters, veggie burgers, and so much more. Check out our recipe library to discover all the ways you can use these amazing whole grain oats. • USDA certified organic • R5-ELISA gluten tested • Dedicated gluten free facility • 100% whole grain • 44g whole grains per serving • Good source of fiber • 6g protein per serving

I use these to replace the rice in Adele Davis' rice pudding - fewer calories and equally wonderful.
and of course they're wonderful as breakfast oatmeal

My go-to for breakfast now.
Great breakfast or brunch that fills you up. Takes 10 minutes but worth it. Not mushy. Add flax meal, sunflower seeds, apples, pears, cranberries, blueberries, etc. and a touch of brown sugar. Yum. Aren't you worth 15-20 minutes for a good healthy breakfast?

Trifecta of benefits
Due to health issues our doctor has recommended we eat as close to gluten free as possible. Not all oats are GF, fortunately Bob’s Red Mill steel cut oats are available in GF with the added health benefits of also being organic. The trifecta of gluten free, organic and flavor is just what the doctor ordered for my family.

Deborah S on Jan 7, 2018
I love steel cut oats. As a child I hated mushy oatmeal. Steel cut oats are chewy, my preference. First time trying organic. I don't know if I should be avoiding Gluten but if it is as good as regular I'll switch. I have problems with my gut. I can eat plain with nothing topping. I usually eat with ground flaxseed atop.
Gloria W on Jan 5, 2018
i like this brand
mahmoud s on Jan 5, 2018
Most oats (and other grains) are now "desiccated" before harvest by killing them with glyphosate (Roundup, etc), a serious toxin and likely carcinogen that permeates every cell in the plant. The only way to avoid this is organic, and gluten-sensitive people should be very grateful to BRM for making GF organic oats available. We cook this up with chia seeds, and then put apple, banana, nutri-yeast, shredded coconut, sunflower seeds, raisins, and walnuts on it. Can't beat that!
Richard A on Jan 4, 2018
We all like it, my husband, myself and my hens.

More texture than rolled oats. Tastes great, healthy!
Robert R on Dec 12, 2017
The most amazing oats! I have breakfast at my desk. A handful of dried cranberries, blueberries, or raisins with 4 oz of oats goes into a container before I leave the house. I add hot water and about a minute in the microwave at work and I'm off to a successful day! No added sugar or salt. Just natural goodness!
D K on Dec 11, 2017
I tried other brands of steel cut oats and they do not have the consistent quality and taste of these. Love the convenience of making extra servings to have the next morning.
