Nana truly encompasses the meaning of love. Her patience and ability to listen calmly still blows me away (a great attribute with 8 children). She outlived not only her parents but both her brothers and three of her own children. The way she handled the joys and the pain of life truly represents how she’s championed her 96 years. She leaves behind an incredible legacy proudly carried by me and my 25 first cousins.
Nana was a woman of faith and always talked about doing good deeds and loving one another. She always set an extra place setting for anyone who might pass through, teaching the importance of communion. Through her, I learned how central the kitchen is to sharing joy, traditions and culture.
