Golden Raisin – Currant Compote

This quick compote, made by simmering dried raisins and currants with warm spices, is a wonderful accompaniment to breakfast pancakes and waffles.  Try serving it alongside sweet cream butter with your next loaf of home baked bread.

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer until thick and fruit has plumped, about 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.
