WOULD CASSAVA WORK IN A SAUSAGE BALL RECIPE?

Bob's Red Mill StaffALICE ATNIP

It should, but sausage ball recipes usually call for Bisquick or another flour mix that includes leavening like baking powder, so if you use Cassava Flour you'll need to add some additional ingredients. For example, to make a self-rising flour you can add 1-1/2 teaspoons of Baking Powder and ¼ teaspoon of salt per every cup of flour. Just be sure to mix all of the dry ingredients together well before using to evenly distribute evenly.

Hi Kathleen,
If you click on the underlined title of each recipe (like "Cassava Pie Crust") it will take you to the recipe page. We hope you love any of the recipes you try!

Hi- I want to make an olive oil almond flour cake for some friends who live gluten free. Almost all of the recipes I’ve found for this cake use some wheat flour- which would work the best in this case- Cassava or Tapioca flour? Thanks so much!

Hi there! If you need a cup-for-cup swap for wheat flour, we'd recommend our Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour.

I tried the Cassava Brownies on the Cassava flour bag and I was pleasantly surprised. They had great texture and tasted really good. I do not like rice flour substitutes because of the texture, the Cassava did not have that.

Monk or swerve I powder mine in a coffeegrinder dor a better texture works and tests great.

Swerve sugar replacement is a wonderful sugar substitute for baking. It also comes in confection and brown sugar replacement. It is not at all bitter and takes just like sugar.

Please help ! I am trying to make a beet cake from scratch. Ipurchased your almond flour to use in place of regular flour and I wanted to know what your opinion would be for sweetner . I'm not diabetic but I'm trying to keep from being diabetic ! Any help would be appreciated greatly !

Hi Patti, we don't sell any sugar substitutes but I would recommend seeking out ones that are specifically formulated for baking purposes.

I cut all my recipe sweetener amounts in half and LOVE everything I have made with less sweetener. I am a diabetic. Eat less per serving, spread out the meal, cut down on the fats and sweeteners in the meals to loose weight. Also eat more flavor filled squash as your starch to loose weight and add savory seasonings, not oils or sweeteners to it and you will loose weight I guarantee.

please don't make it complicated by the stress of counting and eating foods that taste terrible because the sweeteners leave a metal taste or weird aftertaste in so many cases.

Use less oil (don't top with butters or oils)and sweeteners, smaller portions, and no icing.

I make a biscotti that I drizzle a thin chocolate or butterscotch (brown sugar) frosting very thinly, just enough to satisfy, not to smother it like the typical recipes do.
