can u tell me if you bought 2 lbs of active dry yeast and u want to store some in the freezer, can u put 2 tsp in many snack ziplock bags with taking the air out the best you can and then seal those in a vacuum sealed bag in freezer so you can take out a bag or two and re- vacuum seal the bag and return to the freezer ?

Yes, you can store the yeast this way. Just be sure to note the best by date on the main package so you know when to have the yeast used by for the best results.

i read the frozen yeast last longer than the best by date. Most articles said it active dry yeast lasts in the freezer for 6 months .

All of our products benefit from being stored in a cool, dry place while sealed for freshness, either in our standup resealable packages or transferred to airtight containers.

The following products will keep best refrigerated or frozen after opening: whole grain flours and meals, hot cereals and rolled oats, muesli, dry active yeast, and all nut products and seeds.

Please note we only recommend using our products until the best-by date stamped on the package. This is the range of time in which the product has been determined to be of the best flavor and quality.

Can I use active dry yeast in place of a yeast cske?

Can active dry yeast be used in place of a yeast cake? Are they the same ratios? Thanks!

Dolly

I am trying to improve my bread baking skills. Thank you. Your Information was very helpful

Tina

Thank you! This was helpful, not thinking I needed to warm the yeast to room temperature. I figured it was expired.

Excellent, thank you for the advice, was about to throw my yeast away. G.
