Family Favorite
It is one of those places that has a romantic atmosphere even though it also is a family restaurant. I will never forget Paul's Mac N Cheese . . . it had ham, mac n cheese, jalapenos, black beans and onions. I loved every single bite. The menu has a wide variety and being in Maine seafood is a specialty.

Side Street Cafe is a family owned American Restaurant that is truly rooted in its community and the people who visit. Situated in Bar Harbor, on the outskirts of Acadia National Park. it is greatly reliant on the local people who live here and the tourists who visit. The menu is famous for giant fresh lobster rolls and have won multiple awards for their Create Your Own Mac and Cheese option (and YES, you can get lobster on that too!) Almost every item on the extensive menu can be made gluten free, including their house cut french fries. But beyond the menu, what makes SSC special is the welcoming, warm and happy vibe from the staff and everyone who frequents the space. You get the feeling that you are right where you should be and want to come back again.
