The feeling of family gets me every time. For the two decades that Mother's has been in business, I have felt warmly welcomed and celebrated and loved and mothered in the best of ways. I make it a point to always pick up something or make a reservation when I'm in town now. I feel full in my belly and my heart when I dine there and feel and show my gratitude for their memory-making in my times there with friends and loved ones.

Mother’s Bistro & Bar is a restaurant founded over 20 years ago by Chef Lisa Schroeder who was inspired by home-cooked foods from mothers around the world. Located in the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland, Oregon, Mother’s menu offers made-from scratch, slow-cooked dishes utilizing the best available ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition to the regular menu, Schroeder celebrates the cuisine of a different mother each month, lovingly referred to as the “Mother of the Month” (or “M.O.M.”) menu. Mother’s Bistro & Bar received the “Restaurant of the Year” award from Willamette Week in 2000 and, in 2002, was recognized by Food & Wine Magazine as one of America’s Top Restaurant Bargains. Mother’s has been voted Best Brunch by Portland Monthly Magazine, Willamette Week, and has been selected by Tripadvisor as a "Traveller's Choice" the last four years.
