Ingredients

  • 1 cup Country Rice Blend
  • 1/4 tsp Rosemary
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Celery stalk chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 12 oz Ground Beef (or Ground Turkey)
  • 1/2 tsp Marjoram
  • 1 Tbsp Basil
  • 2 Tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1/2 lb Mushrooms sliced
  • 2-1/2 cups Water
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (Medium Grind)
  • 1/2 tsp Sage ground
  • 1 Tbsp Parsley Flakes
  • 1-3/4 cups Vegetable Broth or Chicken Broth
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the rice blend in a saucepan with 2 cups of the water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook 45 minutes. Lest rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, place the remaining water in a large non-stick frying pan. Add the onion, bell pepper, mushrooms and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Mix the chicken broth, cornstarch, soy sauce and the seasonings in a seperate bowl. Add to vegetable mixture while stirring. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens. Add ground turkey and cooked rice mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.



    Makes 6 servings.
