Rinse rice in 2-3 changes of cold water. Place rice, water and oil in a 2-quart saucepan with lid. Bring to a boil over high heat, stir once or twice, cover. Reduce heat to lowest setting and simmer for approximately 45-55 minutes, until tender. Do not remove lid during cooking process. Brown rice will have a crunchy texture because the bran remains firm.
