Sunflower Seeds are a delicious snack and a great addition to breads, muffins, cookies and more. Use them as a tasty topping for hot cereal or salad, add them to homemade granola or trail mix, or eat them right out of the bag!

Details

Sunflower seeds are the fruit of the beautiful sunflower plant. Sunflowers originated in Mexico and Peru and were one of the first plants cultivated in America. For more than 5,000 years, Native Americas have been harvesting sunflower seeds for both food and oil. With their crunchy texture and nutty flavor, sunflower seeds are delicious as a high protein snack and have become an American classic. Sunflower seeds boast high levels of protein, antioxidants, minerals and linoleic acid (an essential fatty acid). They're an excellent source of vitamin E, dietary fiber, selenium, phosphorus, vitamin B1, vitamin B6 and folate. Bob's Red Mill Sunflower Seeds make a great addition to breads, cakes, cookies and muffins. Try mixing sunflower seeds into your favorite tuna or chicken salad recipe or sprinkle onto hot and cold cereals or on top of yogurt. They are also a crunchy substitute for bacon bits and croutons on cooked vegetables and salads. You can also toast them to bring out their subtle flavor and extend their shelf life.

Very fresh
A lot of other sunflower seeds I get at the stores are a little old / off tasting. These are wonderfully fresh! Their great flavor really comes through.

Always a fresh taste
I use to go to the health food stores to find sunflower seeds that were not dried out. Now I buy the Red Mill brand always. What a find. When you want a quick pick-me-up between meals a small handful will do it and low calorie.

Great Energy Snack
These have a wonderful fresh, clean flavor, and the quality is top- notch, no broken pieces or mealy bits. My husband insists on having these on every salad I make from Greek to Caesar, and that is almost every single night. I like these for an energy pick-me-up when I'm playing competitive tennis, or just a mid -afternoon snack to tide me over until dinner.. They're also great to add to homemade bread or roll recipes.

this is for me and my horses. doing some research and have found that these items are beneficial for horses also. I am moving away from grains for horses. They can benefit more from your products also because you sell in bulk. For me it's been awesome to find a very good quality company like yourselves and very reasonable prices.

Most of the sunflower seeds in grocery stores have "BS" on them and yet they are still often rancid and loaded with toxic refined salt. I trust that Bob's Red Mill will offer a much fresher and cleaner product. I will be toasting some of these with my own gourmet sea salt.
