Nutritional Booster Update {Giveaway!}

By: Lindsey Duncan | June 22 2017

If you follow us on Instagram (@BobsRedMill) or have searched our hashtag lately (#bobsredmill), you've seen our Nutritional Boosters blowing up our feed, but it's been a while since we've talked about our Nutritional Boosters on our blog! Today we'd like to proudly re-introduce these (more-than-just) protein powders and also give some away!

The Boosters' biggest news? They now come in stand-up, re-sealable pouches and have a scoop inside for easier storage and use: two scoops for a serving, or just one if that's all the "boost" you need.

Besides their beautiful and nifty new packaging, there's so much more to love about the Boosters!

  • Vegan
  • Gluten free
  • 20g plant-based protein per serving
  • 3g or less of sugar per serving
  • Probiotics
  • Excellent source of dietary, prebiotic fiber
  • Omega-3s from chia seeds
  • Excellent source of iron
  • No soy or dairy ingredients
  • Convenient packaging for easy use and storage

That’s a whole lot of reasons to love. Let’s take a closer look at each of the “whats” above and discover their “whys”:

Vegan. We know lots of folks are on plant-based diets, so we created the Boosters especially to provide the protein, fiber, and iron that many of our vegan friends' bodies crave.

Gluten free. When Bob’s Red Mill says “gluten free,” we mean it! We handle all of our gluten free products in a dedicated gluten free facility and batch-test every raw material and every finished good. Whether your clients are watching gluten consumption by choice or by necessity (if at all), our Nutritional Boosters are safe for them.

20g plant-based protein per serving. Bob’s Red Mill doesn’t skimp on quality. We searched high and low, far and wide for the best-tasting, easiest-blending, most cleanly produced protein powder and we weren’t going to settle. Our protein powder is extracted from yellow peas using a chemical-free, water-based process. That means no funky aftertaste and no sketchy ingredients. While yellow pea is not considered a complete protein, it does contain all of the essential amino acids in various amounts.

Yellow Pea | Lathyrus aphaca

3g of sugar or less per serving. “I love the aftertaste of artificial sweeteners and the energy spike and crash I feel when consuming sugar,” said no one ever. Thus, the three flavored Boosters are sweetened with the extract of monk fruit, which is an Asian melon-like fruit also called luo han guo. Its extract is over 100 times sweeter than sugar, so just a tiny amount is in every package. No one misses the icky aftertaste of artificial sweeteners and there’s no sugar rush and crash; just sustained energy and satiety.

Monk fruit | Siraitia grosvenorii

Probiotics for a happy gut and speedy muscle recovery. Probiotics are the good-for-you bacteria in your gut that aid in digestion so your body absorbs more of the nutrients you consume. Because your body makes more efficient use of your fuel, your recovery time after a hardcore workout will be shorter! We chose GanedenBC30 Bacillus coagulans for a number of reasons. It’s shelf-stable (doesn’t need to be refrigerated) and can endure extreme temperatures, so you can make protein popsicles or protein muffins without compromising the effectiveness of the probiotics! Ganeden has also done extensive research on the effects of GanedenBC30 in athletic training and found that it aids in protein absorption and reduces muscle soreness sooner compared to diets without the probiotic.

Excellent source of dietary, prebiotic fiber. You gotta eat, and the good bugs in your gut gotta eat too! We know probiotics are key to a happy gut but they won’t do much for you if they can’t thrive! That’s why we used organic chicory root fiber (aka inulin) to make sure the good guys are fed and happy. Extra bonus: fiber keeps you regular too, if you know what we mean. Each serving has more than 40% of your daily value of fiber. The Protein & Fiber unflavored variety also contains psyllium husk fiber.

Chicory | Cichorium intybus

Psyllium | Plantago ovata

Omega-3s from chia seeds. The chia seeds in our Nutritional Boosters offer 220mg of Omega-3s in each serving. These fatty acids are anti-inflammatory.

Chia | Salvia hispanica

Excellent source of iron. Cheers to iron you don’t have to pump! Seriously, though, iron is an incredibly important nutrient for blood health and oxygenation. Thanks in large part to the pea protein powder, the Boosters boast 40% daily value of iron.

No soy or dairy ingredients. We’re not saying they’re bad, we’re just saying a lot of people avoid them. In the spirit of the clean label, the Boosters are made without.

Convenient packaging for easy use and storage. Our 16 oz Boosters come in stand-up, re-sealable pouches to avoid protein spillage in the pantry. You can keep them in the fridge if you prefer, but it’s not necessary. Inside each pouch is a convenient scoop for measuring: two scoops is one serving. If you only want a little boost, just use one scoop instead of two.

All that’s left to do is decide which delicious flavor you need:

Or better yet, win the giveaway below and you won't have to decide at all! We'll send you one of each flavor (Vanilla, Chocolate, and Chai) plus a Bob's Red Mill shaker bottle and Bob Moore Bob-blehead! 3 winners will be chosen. Enter before 11:59 p.m. Pacific on 06/28/17. Good luck!

Love these! Using the pea protein (all flavors) brought my cholesterol down significantly & they don't elevate blood sugar so are excellent for diabetics (at least type 2). Thank you Bob's Red Mill for your great products. So thankful to be near enough to visit the mill frequently.

I recently started baking muffins with protein powder and spinach to make it easier to carry my full balanced meals with me and make it possible to eat healthy while I'm out on the field doing home visits in an effort to prevent child abuse/neglect. Would love to try all of them!

I waited till I was I with this product before writing a review. It was my first time dealing with them & I was very happy. Product came on time and with no issues. I noticed huge pumps with this and these pumps motivated me to spend more time at the gym. I turn 40 this year & am trying to make it my best yet. As an Ultra Runner, OCR, Triathlete I will definitely be adding this to my routine.
