Patriotic Protein Pops. Let me guess, you either said, "That sounds amazing!" or you said, "What the heck is a protein pop?" If you're not familiar with a protein pop, they are a fun, delicious frozen treat that happens to deliver a nice boost of protein. Texture-wise, it's a lot like a creamy popsicle, but not quite ice cream bar. Flavor-wise, this version is a creamy vanilla with berries. It's basically a frozen smoothie.

They are a bit of an indulgence, but far more functional than a regular popsicle or ice cream bar. I love them because on the days that I cannot get my three year old to eat any protein, these are a fun way to make sure he's getting his protein without even knowing it.Rare is the three year old that will turn down a sweet, messy treat.
These are easy to whip up and perfect for the upcoming holiday. Use raspberries and blueberries for a patriotic treat, though any berries will work here. If you opt to use a large berry like strawberries, we recommend chopping them into smaller pieces. We chose to use our
whey protein powder here, which is the best performing protein powder we've tried in protein pops. It dissolves the best and has the best flavor. If you need something dairy free, our
soy protein powder will work just fine. We weren't overly happy with the results, but it will work in a pinch.
