Re the ground hemp seeds - if the grinding affects the heart itself, doesn't that release some of the nutritional benefits of the hemp hearts too early and because of that reduces the uptake of the beneficial substance? I've heard not to grind hemp until ready to use. thanks

Whole hemp seeds have a tough outer shell. If they aren’t chewed extremely well, they can pass through the digestive tract undigested, meaning you lose access to the protein, omega-3s, and other nutrients. Grinding breaks the shell and exposes the nutrients, which increases absorption.
Grinding slightly increases exposure to oxygen, but the effect on nutrient loss is slow, especially if you grind only what you’ll use soon and store in the fridge or freezer.

I buy shelled hemp hearts from a health food store. three tbls have 10g protein. It provides additional protein to my oatmeal. I think this product needs some advertising about its health benefits. I surely would prefer to buy it in the grocery store.

Why do you not sell ground hemp seeds? Sounds like they would be useful in many of my recipes.

Hi Jerry,
We appreciate the feedback! Our Marketing and Product Development is always looking to source new products for our customers.  There are multiple factors involved in sourcing and offering a new product. Factors such as if the raw material is currently grown in enough quantity we can source, finding a market for the product among our customers (demand), and distributors, and offering the finished product at a price that is sustainable for our customers and distributors.

We're happy to share your feedback with our team.

I bought your flaxseeds. I noticed you also sell sesame seeds. Is there any way the sesame seeds could have cross contaminated the flaxseeds? I am deadly allergy to sesame and need to know.
