Hi Myrtle,
Glyphosate is an herbicide that is approved by the USDA for use in non-organic farming. Pesticide and herbicide use is regulated and there are allowable maximum residue tolerances which are set by the USDA. Our Artisan Bread Flour is not Organic so glyphosate may be used. We do have some organic flours that may be a great alternative; Organic Unbleached White All Purpose Flour and our Organic Whole Wheat Flour.
Glyphosate and use of other pesticides and herbicide is prohibited in organic farming. The organic label means that the product was grown without synthetic fertilizers or irradiation and that genetic engineering may not be used.
I've been using your Artisan Bread flour for years, and it has the Non-GMO label on it. With that said, is the wheat sprayed with glyphosate/Roundup? I am baking for my father who cannot have those chemicals. Thank you.
