Sweet Brown Rice, often referred to as "sushi rice” or “sticky rice” because of its slightly sweet flavor and sticky texture, is ideal for forming sushi rolls or other Asian dishes that are eaten with chopsticks. While the name “sticky rice” encompasses several types of rice, Bob's Red Mill Sweet Brown Rice is considered to be “sticky rice.” It is also known as “glutinous rice,” which simply means “sticky” and does not mean that it contains the protein gluten. Our Sweet Brown Rice is a short grain variety of brown rice, carefully selected from the finest rice crops of California. This premium whole grain brown rice retains the outer bran layer with its fiber and micronutrients intact. Whole grain brown rice is low in fat and high in protein, iron and fiber. It contains a variety of b vitamins, including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B6 and B12. It's rich in manganese, which helps in the proper development of bones, and supports the absorption of calcium. With its sticky texture, sweet rice is perfect for use in many Asian recipes, as well as desserts such as rice pudding.     This is standard in our house for dinner. I will disclose that i work here and I love this stuff. I buy it at our Whole Grain Store and make exactly as directed and it turns out every time. Try this for a sweet / slightly healthy dessert with fresh sliced mangoes and (full fat) coconut milk slightly sweetened and warmed. Pour heated milk mixture over a small mound of rice and then top with sliced mango.

    This is the best tasting brown rice I've ever eaten. It is full of flavor and has the sticky consistency that I love. I eat it cooked alone or I fix it using chicken broth then add toasted almonds and dried cranberries. I love it and no longer want any other brown rice.
