Thick Yeast-Free & Gluten-Free Pizza Crust

Directions

Preheat over to 400°. Grease 2 cookie sheets or 2 pizza pans; set aside.

In a mixing bowl, place the flours, milk, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening, rubbing with the fingers until it feels like cornmeal. Pour in water and stir together. Separate the dough into two sections.

Place each section of dough on the center of prepared pans.  Spread dough out with plastic spatula or wet hands to about 1/4 inch thickness.  Cover with desired sauce and toppings. Bake 20 minutes. Makes two 10-inch pizza crusts (8 slices each).

I am allergic to all corn products. Is there a substitute for this recipe?

To substitute the corn starch called for in this recipe, you may be interested in using arrowroot starch or potato starch. These two ingredients can substitute corn starch one for one.
