This recipe was not tested in the Bob’s Red Mill Kitchen but was submitted by a customer who wanted to share a recipe they enjoyed with others.

  • 1/2 cup Instant Potato Flakes
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 Tb softened Butter or Margarine
  • 1/2 cup Hot Water
  • 1/3 cup Cold Water
  • 3 cups Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
  • 1 Milk on tops of bisuits (to brush)

Directions

Combine potato flakes, sugar, butter and hot water in a bowl and mix well. Add cold water and Buttermilk Biscuit Mix and stir until blended. Add a little water, if needed, to make soft dough.

Turn out on lightly-floured surface. Knead ten times. Roll out ½-inch thick and cut out biscuits. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops of biscuits with milk.

Bake at 450°F for 13 minutes or until lightly browned.  Makes 15 biscuits.
