Vegetarian Tacos

Ingredients
  • 1 cup TVP® (Textured Vegetable Protein) 
  • 7/8 cup Boiling Water 
  • 1 - 12oz can Tomato Sauce 
  • 1 Tb Chili Powder 
  • 1-1/2 tsp Garlic, minced 
  • 1 tsp Sugar 
  • 1 Tomato, chopped 
  • 2 cups Lettuce, shredded 
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded 
  • 8 Taco Shells 
  • Salsa (optional) 
Directions
Pour the boiling water over the TVP and set aside. Mix tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic and sugar and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the vegetable protein and cook for another 10 minutes. Serve in taco shells topped with tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and salsa.
