Stove Top Cooking Instructions:
For a delicious hot cereal, bring 3 cups milk or 2 1/2 cups water to a boil and slowly stir in 1/2 cup of Kasha; add 1/4 tsp. salt and a little butter. Boil 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with milk or cream and honey. Makes 4 servings. Microwave Instructions: For a delicous side dish, boil 1 cup water or broth in 2 cup glass container. Add 1 tsp. butter, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. pepper and and 1/4 cup Kasha. Cover with plastic wrap. Heat to boiling, then switch to DEFROST setting for 4 1/2 minutes. Spread out on a plate, put back in the microwave and heat uncovered 2 minutes on high. Remove and fluff with fork. Makes 1-2 servings. |
