For a delicious and nutritious hot breakfast cereal, bring 3 cups water and 1/2-teaspoon salt to a boil. Add 1 cup Cracked Wheat and turn heat down.
Cover and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with milk and honey. Makes enough for 4. Add almost any fruit or nuts. Single Serving Instructions
Bring 3/4 cup water to a boil (with a pinch of salt, if desired). Add 1/4 cup cereal, reduce heat to low, cover and let cook to desired consistency, 10 - 15 minutes. Makes about 1/2- to 2/3-cup serving.
Microwave Instructions
In a large bowl, combine 1/4 cup cereal and 3/4 cup water (add a pinch of salt, if desired). Microwave on high for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring every minute-and-a-half. Let stand for 2 minutes. Makes one serving (1/2 to 2/3 cup).
Slow Cooker Instructions
Combine 1 cup cereal with 2-1/2 cups water and 1/2-tsp salt in slow cooker. Cook on high heat for 2 hours. Serves 4.
