Homemade Wonderful GF Rolls

Using our Homemade Wonderful GF Bread Mix, you can create these tasty rolls.

  • 1 tsp Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter or Oil
  • 1 Egg plus enough Egg Whites to equal 3/4 cup
  • 1-2/3 cups Milk (warmed cow, rice, or soy milk)
  • 3-1/4 cups GF Homemade Wonderful Bread

Directions

PLACE contents of package in large bowl of heavy-duty tabletop mixer. Remove yeast packet and add yeast to warm milk in separate bowl. Let foam for 5 minutes.

ADD eggs, melted butter or oil, vinegar, and yeast-milk mixture to bread mix.

MIX with regular beaters (not dough hook) at medium speed for 3 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl with spatula as necessary. Coat palm of hands with oil and using a small handful of dough, shape into rolls and place dough on greased cookie sheet. Pat down dough slightly.

COVER with oiled aluminum foil or plastic wrap and let rise in warm (75°-80°F) place for 20 minutes. Remove cover.

BAKE at 375°F for 15-18 minutes (do not under bake). To test for doneness, tap roll with fingernail. A crisp, hard sound indicates a properly baked roll. Enjoy!

Makes 2 Dozen Rolls.

NOTE: You can replace the eggs in this recipe with Ener-G Egg Replacer to make it egg-free. Simply use the equivalent of egg replace to equal 3/4 cup.

Outstanding.
Excellent
Followed recipe almost to the letter.
I used egg substitute worked great.
I shaped half the recipe into hot dog bug and the rest of it into hamburger buns.
Great moist sponge like texture. A real treat.
Thank you for the recipe...

Yes, the dough can be made in a bread machine. Just follow the instructions that come with your machine about adding the ingredients and then remove the dough before the first rise cycle begins.

I made these in a 9x13 pan as well as an 8x8 pan as pull apart style rolls. I used my cookie scoop and used two scoops per one roll. Turned out great, but they were bland. I'll add salt to the dough next time. Brushed the tops with butter and sprinkled flaked sea salt.

How do I turn these into sweet bread rolls? Add sugar?

Can I freeze a portion of the dough to use later? If so, what process should I follow after the dough thaws?
