Turtle Cookies

The other day I was craving cookies but I didn’t want just a plain ole’ chocolate chip cookie so I added in caramel and pecans to make a yummy turtle cookie! Recipe courtesy of Poofy Cheeks.

Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  2. In a large mixing bowl beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy.
  3. Add eggs into the sugar mixture one at a time beating until well incorporated. Then gradually add in flour mixture.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips, caramel chips and pecans.
  5. Drop onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
  6. Remove cookies from oven and allow to sit on baking sheet for two minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Recipe Notes

My notes-
*I am a firm believer in pulling cookies out while they are just barely brown on the edges and letting them cook a few minutes on the pan after removing them from the oven. Doing this keeps the cookies moist and chewy.
*To keep all of the cookies the same size for baking time purposes I use an ice-cream scoop to scoop the cookies onto the pan.
