  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Toss a few tablespoons flour over dates, currants and hazelnuts and set aside. Blend baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon with remaining flour.
  3. Cream together butter and sugar.
  4. Mix in eggs, anise and banana. Add to dry ingredients, including nuts and fruits, and mix well.
  5. Spoon into an greased 9-inch loaf pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

    This is delicious! I made it with the add-ins I had on hand, so instead of dates, currents, and hazelnuts, I used dates, pecans, and dark chocolate chunks. The cinnamon and anise pairing is fantastic, and the teff is rich and flavorful. I love this bread!
