  1. Mix flour, sugar and Xanthan gum. Add butter and mix into crumbs with hands. Reserve 1/2-cup crumbs and set aside. Mix hot water and baking soda and add to crumb mixture with molasses.
  2. Pour into greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for about 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick tests clean. Cool before cutting.



    Makes 8 servings.
Recipe Notes

This recipe freezes well. *If you like a strong molasses flavor, dark molasses can be substituted for part of the King syrup. Just be sure to check the label to ensure your cake is gluten free.

Please note: This recipe requires the use of our Gluten Free All Purpose Baking Flour. Using our Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour may result in a poor end product.
